The Brentwood Recovery Home (BRH) Board of Directors consists of alumni and community stakeholders who volunteer to guide and serve the charitable corporation. They are responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring practices align with our Vision, Mission and Values.  The focus of the Board is on policy, strategic planning and stewardship of Brentwood.  This dedicated group of 16 volunteers bring forward a diverse set of skills, experiences and perspectives on Addictions and Mental Health.

The Board of Directors of Charity House o/a Brentwood Recovery Home is calling for interested Alumni and a non-alumni community member to apply for the upcoming openings on the Board.


As and integral part of the addictions & mental health continuum, Brentwood provides lifelong, compassionate & evidence informed treatment to people whose primary goal is lifelong recovery from alcohol & drug misuse. Additionally, we provide on-going, community-based support for family members.

Board Member Responsibilities

  1. Serves a minimum of one (1) four-year term on the Board or as specified when filling a vacancy as a result of a Director being unable to fulfill their full term. Directors are eligible to serve two terms if re-elected.
  2. Attends the Full Board of Directors meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  3. Makes a serious commitment to actively participate.
  4. Stays informed about committee matters, is prepared for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
  5. Works positively, co-operatively and respectfully with other Directors.
  6. Respects & abides by Board decisions.
  7. Participates in the annual review of the board effectiveness
  8. Represents the Board when requested.

Thank you for your interest in serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Charity House, operating as Brentwood Recovery Home. Serving on the board is a rewarding experience and an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

In order to be considered by the Board of Directors Governance & Nominating committee, you must complete and submit the following application form. Applications must be received by 4:00pm September 29, 2021.

This application will be kept confidential. Applications are used by the Board’s Governance & Nominating Committee to identify and evaluate potential board candidates. Those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. The Governance & Nominating Committee brings forward the successful slate of candidates to the Board of Directors & elections are held at the Annual General Meeting of the Corporation.


Volunteers are the backbone of the Brentwood Recovery Home. Hundreds of Brentwood Alumni volunteer on a daily/monthly basis. These volunteers make it possible for Brentwood to focus on the core responsibility of recovery. Brentwood is fortunate to have these dedicated people who support Brentwood’s needs and help give back and assist those whom are on program.
